D.O.C.!!!

No, that does not mean "dossier to China" as it does to some. To us it means dossier to C_____ county! For those unfamiliar with adoptionese, this means that all of our paper is finally "in" and the ball is in the court of the county to begin the process of finalizing the adoption. To the best of our understanding, we now wait on the county for our "disclosure" that reveals to us all the information about J's history, including anything we may not already know. After we receive the disclosure, we give the go ahead and hopefully schedule the adoption to take place at the next court date. The upcoming court date is scheduled for July 1st, and our social worker thinks that there is no reason that the adoption couldn't happen then. I am personally not holding my breath, but am hopeful and praying for the Lord's timing.

One interesting development is that according to J's birth family's lawyer, J's birth family are entitled to a "goodbye" visit with him. This will probably take place at the July 1st court date, so it may happen that we meet J's birth family. This will be interesting because we have already heard that they are not thrilled about the adoption or our ethnicity. We are praying for some positive closure for them and for us as well. God's timing is perfect and we trust Him.

We are praying for you all, especially mommy! Pregnancy is tough waiting to meet the new person, but you already have him and now you are waiting for him to be yours. God be with you every moment and may He ease your fears... even the tiny ones.

Love you all and we can't wait to meet little man J!
