Learning The R's

The Lord has spoken these words over me in the past couple of months: Rest, Relax, Receive, and now most recently, Respond. Each word is heavy with meaning for me as I listen to God and learn these new things. The Lord is teaching me each one of these things in His own patient and quiet way.

Rest...stop striving, don't calculate, be here and now, trust Me

Relax...do not fear, enjoy, close your eyes, breathe

Receive...open arms, reach to Me, look up, take the gift with thanksgiving

Respond...rise, run to Me, open your heart completely, be intimate with Me

As I teach my children and pray into His building of their godly character, I speak of allowing God to have our hearts so that He can impress His Son's image more fully upon us. I am being taught as much as they, and I understand more and more the heart of coming into a deeper relationship with the Lord...He is not finished with me yet! Praise the Lord!
