Back in the day when I would read anything without regard to what I was putting in my head, I read a couple of Anne Rice's vampire books. Anne was interviewed about her return to faith in Jesus Christ on Dr. Dobson's show today and will be on again tomorrow. Interestingly, she said that she lost her faith at age 18 on a college campus. Something to think about...
This video is one she made to speak directly to her vampire book fans about her return to Christ.

Thanks for posting this, Gayle. I hadn't heard about Anne Rice's Christian books. What a great witness she could be to a sub-culture who "worships" her vampire novels.
I'm very aware of the issues that Christians face at secular college campuses. Dan and I have some very good friends who are actively involved in apologetics training for the sole purpose of educating Christians to answer atheists questions in college settings and lectures.
I also read a LOT on the Answers in Genesis website for information on how to answer issues raised by atheists and nihilists (as Anne states she previously was) and the proper way to engage in knowledgeable and non-confrontational conversation.
Unfortunately this can happen on Christian campuses too with professors who have been steeped in "academia" instead of Jesus truth. I think you are right that the key is grounding them in their faith and making them aware of the pitfalls out there.
