Catchin' Up

I am behind in my updates as it has been one of those "just keepin' up" weeks.

Monday was a blessed day. It felt like J knew he was more "ours" although I know that can't be true. He was so happy all day - he may have been picking it up from me. He kept hugging me tight around the neck and snuggling in. What a love! He seems (to BigJ and me) to be getting more and more attached to me, and if he can't see me, will look all over the house saying, "Ama, Ama."

Super Tuesday was a busy day. I wasn't feeling too hot, but I had lots of running to do. BigJ came home for lunch with news that some friends of ours were in the hospital laboring with their first baby. We ran over to give a little support and walked in just as she was getting ready to push! We gave the little mama a hand squeeze then high-tailed it out of there! :) Leah Marie was later born safe and healthy, and is a beautiful baby.

An hour later the girls and I hosted a Keepers At Home club meeting at our house, sent Bookworm off to choir, ran to the coffee shop to see friends for a few minutes, back across town to pick up Bookworm, then home again to devise a quick dinner of leftover taco soup...all this while wicked storms were brewing west of us and slowly coming our way. We ate our supper in the dark so we could watch the strangely colored sky, and discussed whether we should venture out to vote or to a family worship time or both. We decided to brave it, strapped all six of us in and raced down to the polls; we voted and headed over to the worship time.

We spent an hour in worship - time that literally flew by. At one point, J lifted his hand in praise, watching everyone around him doing the same. This is the second time he has done this in worship and it is so precious to me and those around him who observe it. I spent the last part of the praise time bouncing a squirmy J in the back of the room while thunder rolled and wind blew.

After the worship time, the leader opened up a time for prayer and BigJ and I took J to a friend and asked for prayers over him... C annointed J with frankincense oil and we prayed for J's life - that any sinful bonds with the past would be broken and that he would be filled with a love for Jesus (more on this in a later post). J reached up and put his hand on C's mouth while she prayed. It was a sweet time, and one that I am sure we will repeat as we bring this child before the throne of Jesus.
