I just received an email from the attorney (on a Sunday afternoon-who would have thought of it!) saying that the judge granted the petition for the termination of the parental rights of the birth mother and father (I can say that now because I am the potential adoptive mom!?)
We praise You Father in Heaven for Your will and purpose for this child's life. We pray that You will give us spiritual wisdom and every resource that we require to raise him to be a mighty warrior in Your Kingdom. You have a great purpose for him and You love him much more than we ever can, this we know. You have given him gifts that we can already see. Please grow him in Your power and into a close relationship with You, Lord Jesus - at a very young age. Protect him from the evil one.
We pray for his birth mother, Jo, and we thank You for her and that she chose to give this child life; he is a precious gift created for Your purposes. We know that Jo is so lost right now, physically and spiritually. Lord Jesus, please bring her into a relationship with you, let her come to know You and Your healing power.
Father, we are humbled and weep at Your generosity in fulfilling our desires. We know the path will not be all roses, but we do not want all roses if it means knowing less of You.
Jesus, let us come to know You
Let us see You face to face
Touch us, hold us, use us, mold us,
Only let us live in You.
