The Lord is faithful to give us opportunities to believe and trust Him and His power. And we do just that: trust Him by faith through grace to deliver us to Him refined for His glory.
I was a bit shaken this morning when I took Bookworm (11) for a routine eye examination. The doctor called me back and showed me the pictures of her dialated retinas. He asked me if she had ever had an eye injury, to which I replied no. He said that she shows signs of "retinal deterioration" and that this is very unusual for someone of her age. With the history of DearHusband's retinal detachments and subsequent blindness in one eye, you can imagine how my heart began pounding. I gave the doctor DH's history and said that we would get her to his retinal specialist in (the capital city) as soon as possible.
We left the office and swung by DH's office to pick him up for lunch. Bookworm was upset, but frankly it was more about the prospect of having her eyes dialated again than anything else. DH tracked down his doctor in the city and called for an appointment. We are going to the city on Thursday anyway, and they were able to fit us in that morning-praise God!
We are standing in faith, shod with the shoes of peace and knowing that the Lord Jesus will heal our dear Bookworm. We fully expect to see nothing on the scans on Thursday, in Jesus' name.
In DH's words, "Yes, we are to fear the Lord, but we are not to fear this life at all. Jesus is the victory, and I claim victory in the name of Jesus, both for me and for my children. I am not receiving any diagnosis or fear, but I'm trusting fully in the name of Jesus."
Please join us in praising God for His complete control and hand on B's eye and thanking Him for the healing taking place.

Any results from the tests yet? I saw you all in your van Thursday morning. I assumed you were on your way to the doctor, so I started praying for total healing for your sweet girl. We'll pray tonight for that again. We love you guys!!
