Spending Your 60's in a Different Way

I love these pictures that my parents sent me of their recent trip to and from Uganda. They stopped in the Nyungwe National Forest in western Rwanda and hiked into the largest mountain rain forest in Africa. I didn't even realize there were rain forests to speak of in Africa - the only one I remember encountering was the one I hiked through on my way up Mt. Kilimanjaro. They saw troupes of colubus monkeys and hiked for about 7 kms. Mom and Dad described what they saw as "absolutely unsurpassed in beauty out there, and we agreed we'd never seen or been to any place that could compare in any way." This comment despite encountering soldier ants and being bitten profusely.

I love this picture because to me it represents the heart of everything my parents are about, and their dedication to Christ and his ministry for them. I praise God for such faithful parents that go before me and model to me lives devoted to Jesus. As Lovey (8) said this evening, "And they are sorta famous." :)

Father,

Thank you for this example of true disciples of Jesus.
Thank you for the surrendered lives displayed here.
Bless them, ABBA.
Father, no wonder my friend G. is like she is.
What a heritage you have provided for Bookworm, Lovey, Cheery, and J.
