What Sleep Deprivation Can Do

Its amazing what a little lack of sleep can do to a body.
It can make your mind play tricks on you.
It can make it harder to put away lies whispered in your ear.
It can make you say in the middle of the night, "I didn't sign up for this! Oh, wait, I did and I am stupid!"
It can make you decide to bargain with God.
It can make you think that maybe four children will be enough, Lord. Maybe I'll take a miss on that 12-passenger van. Maybe my 7 passenger will be plenty, Lord.
It can make you think more than once about the disciples falling asleep while Jesus prayed.
It can trigger an off-schedule migraine.
It can make you think about five days ago when you didn't realize how easy life was.

It can call you to put "in all things give thanks" into practice.

Here is the song I am singing this morning:

Thank you Lord for making me a mother,
Thank you Lord for my home,
Thank you Lord that Max can come and stay with us,
Thank you Lord that you love him very much,
Thank you Lord for making me a mother.

Max smiles when I sing this and so do I.

You are such an example of a heart open to the voice of the Lord. Thank you for sharing so we can come along side your family in prayer.

We love you and pray for you all daily.
