I am so enjoying a book that I have long wanted to read, and thankfully the Lord led me to it at our homeschool convention this weekend. Stepping Heavenward by Mrs. Elizabeth Prentiss chronicles the life of Katherine through her journal, beginning at age sixteen. Mrs. Prentiss takes us through Katy's courtship, engagement, marriage, and children, sharing all her faults and her strivings to love her Lord better and be transformed into a godly woman. Katy reminds me of a Christian Anne of Green Gables as she battles with her quick-temper and tongue, all the while striving to become more Christ-like. I believe I've just found the gift my daughters will receive on their 16th birthdays.
