A Season of Growing

Growing seems to be a prominent theme in my life these days ~ in the physical sense in our garden, and also in a spiritual sense. It has been brought to my attention by the Lord (in His gentle, yet sometimes breathtakingly piercing way) that I have a distance to go in becoming Christ-like - a long way. In fact, I feel as if I am just beginning this journey. It is disheartening, shocking and exciting all at once. I praise God for opening my eyes in some small measure to see into my own soul and into those of my children. He is the Great Shedder of Light, and I, for one, am eternally grateful for His wisdom, His timing and His patience.

On another topic but in the same vein, I have just started walking through a wonderful online Bible study called The Lord's Table. It focuses on changing eating habits, and learning to be disciplined in the area of laziness and gluttony, to the glory of God. Three of my friends are currently studying through it as well and have been blessed by it. In addition, this website has studies addressing sexual purity, substance abuse, gambling, and other studies on Philemon, Giving Glory to God, Ruth, and more. Yet another step on this journey of mine towards living fully to glorify God. Weeding and pruning aren't fun, but I press on for the fruit of God's labor in my life.

We bow our hearts,
We bend our knees,
O Spirit come make us humble

We turn our eyes
From evil things,
O Lord we cast down our idols

Give us clean hands,
Give us pure hearts,
Let us not lift our souls to another.

O God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
O God of Jacob
