Str-etch-ing...

Sorry for the silence around here. We started our first week of school last Tuesday and made it through the week! I am now prepping for this week and seeing what needs to be changed to make life flow more successfully. To be honest, I do not like school start-up and it seems to be harder for me than it is for the children. I am attempting to build and stick to a MOTH (Managers of Their Homes) schedule which is a stretch for me just coming off of a free-spirited summer. :) I am hoping to attend the Titus 2 Ministry conference next week for some encouragement in this area.

Another reason this year will stretch me is that it is my first year to not follow a set out-of-the-box curriculum, but to teach the things that I feel God is calling me to pour into the hearts of my children. This includes Biblical Character and a program called Spell to Write and Read that is completely new to me. I am discovering that this will require a lot of prayer and guidance from the Holy Spirit because in my flesh, I know I will fail-or at least feel like a failure. But God is wanting to grow me in discipline and consistency, and I trust Him to guide me in this too.

Hey stranger! Grab a cup of your famous hot tea and relax. As a friend once wisely blogged, "You can't go faster than grace."

Hope's it's a better flowing week for you. SWR is hard for me too, but I hope to see it through this year.

Happy tweaking!
